4-20-10

Today was a very hectic day. My wiki was supposed to be due today which added a lot of pressure. I did the normal things such as diggoing, blogging, researching, and contacting my group members. They still have not responded and they are very lazy. I better get back to work... this wiki isn't gonna finish itself.

#10 4-16-10

Today I contemplated many versions of a letter to send to my group members. I am still the only person posting on my wiki. It is to my understanding that many of my group members are from Australia and New Zealand. So I felt it necessary to bring up the battle of the coral sea and other pacific battles that the American navy fought in to prevent these countries from being taken over by Japan in WWII. Fortunately I did not send this message because I thought it through... for once. i ended up sending a very very dry message to them getting the point across. It was not as offensive as i would have liked though... oh well. i'll have more chances soon, call it a feeling.

As usual I contacted my members, did some research. Blogged and did some diggoing!

until next time ladies and gentlemen.

#10 4-14-10

Today I did a lot of research and wrote this blog. I was able to diigo some websites and put work into my wiki. I am almost positive that my group will not finish which is crap because after last class I had done the only work. When I am doing the most work you know there is trouble unless I really know what I'm doing and enjoy the project. Unfortunately this is not the case for this project.

This blog is short and to the point because I need to leave for baseball in about two minutes. Uh oh... I'm gonna be late.

#9 4-12-10

Today is my first day back from break and I am not happy. I am also not afraid to be a hero. The point I'm trying to make is that today I looked for information and found a few good articles. I also created some diigo tags which is helpful. I let my group members know that I am no longer on Spring Break so they know I'm back in action! I keep attempting to cite my sources correctly and I'm honestly not sure if I am or not.

Today I heard some disappointing news. Apparently I have only until the end of this week to finish my wiki which makes me angry. I was under the impression that I had the rest of the year. I'll make the adjustment but I'm not happy about it.

thank you for your time

#8 3-31-10

Today I wrote this blog, just to throw it out there. I also found some more information and posted it to my wiki!!! I know, I got stuff done, nice work on my part. I again attempted to make contact with my team but they do not seem to want to respond. That's ok because i'm not afraid to be a hero.

I also tried to communicate with my group through the ning and wiki. Just to make sure i get my points i even created some diigo tags

#6 3-25-10

today i had a nice discussion with Mr. Langley. He seemed to think that I was complaining when in reality I was not. He forgets that I am not afrAid to be a hero and obviously I will have to step up my efforts to make sure that he never forgets it again. I also figured out how to put my name on the ning. I did some research and tried to cite it but failed miserably. oh well, I'll figure it out sometime. I even got hit by a bottle thrown by none other than mr langley. that wasn't cool!

Also, I would like to point out that I was mercilessly destroyed by the proper citation procedure. Let me describe it to you in simple terms you can understand.

I was driving my covered wagon with twenty horses pullin me. The horses went beserk and flipped off the side of the road. We were going about one billion miles per hour so everything exploded when my wagon flipped over. no horses survived and I was barely able to drag my dying self away to safety.

# 5 another update

Today I worked on my ning and wiki a bit. I signed my name and posted it to my group's wiki. Then I started to do some research. to be honest I did not get much done but that is ok because I am tired.

I'll keep you posted.

#3 Innovation

last class we looked at my sub group which is Innovation. This is a fairly simple concept because it simply means making things better. This field involves studying how pieces of technology have been enhanced and bettered. For instance, computers used to be the size of large rooms. Now they are as small as the lap top I am typing on.

#3 conclusion of websites

ok, this one is going to be brief again because I have a mat test tomorrow and I'm almost positive that I won't pass, but I'm not afraid to be a hero so we'll see what happens.

Once more, I am in the Gesture based computing group and my sub category is Innovation. The websites I reviewed simply told how gesture based computing is becoming more and more common. Also, that they techniques of it are becoming more and more simple, making it very realistic that new ways to use gesture based computing can be applied to life.

Another interesting article on one of the sites I looked at was a description of how college students created a virtual snow ball fight scenario. They used gesture based computing (wii motes as the controllers) and were actually able to have a snowball fight. They used gestures, mostly throwing gestures, to virtually throw snowballs at others. I found this to be interesting and am looking forward to what comes next.

#2 My Topic

My topic is Gesture Based Computing under the sub category of Innovation. Gesture based computing is using gestures to cause a reaction from some form of electronic system. For instance, the nintendo wii uses gesture based computing. by waving your arms (with the wii mote) it causes that same action to happen in the game. In wii baseball you use a swinging motion with the wii mote and this action stimulates the game and causes the batter to swing. Another example is the I phone. Simply by touching the screen or making sliding gestures on the screen with your finger it stimulates reactions. this is essentially gesture based computing.

Innovation is making progress and bettering things. I will be researching how things have been innovated and quite possibly how i think they will continue to get better. This is a fairly simple concept and I'll be honest, I'm beginning to look forward to this research

#1 getting started

alright, I'm no novice at blogging because i've been running a blog for my honors English class since the beginning of the year. I'm gonna make this one right down to the point.

I am a little over burdened right now trying to manage school, work, and baseball. Yet, the important thing is that I am not afraid to be a hero so I'll figure something out. I am actually quite a bit behind right now so I'm going to have to look all of this over this weekend and catch up.

I'll keep you posted.
